Twitter bio checker
Find out what your X bio tells a stranger, and get three rewrites that fit in 160 characters. They are based on what you actually post, not a template.
What makes a good Twitter bio?
A good Twitter bio answers one question for a stranger: why should I follow you? It says what you post about, gives one reason to believe you, and sounds like a person. You have 160 characters, which is about two short sentences.
Most bios fail in the same few ways. They list nouns ("Founder. Dad. Coffee.") instead of saying something. They describe a job instead of what you post. Or they promise a topic the feed never delivers. This checker reads your bio next to your recent posts, tells you which of these it does, and writes three better versions in your own voice.

Good Twitter bio examples you can adapt
These are formulas, not lines to copy. Each example is written for a made-up person so you can see the structure.
| Formula | Example | Works for |
|---|---|---|
| What you post + who it's for | Short, practical posts on pricing for freelance designers. Learned the hard way so you don't have to. | Creators and educators |
| Proof + what you share | Grew two SaaS products to $1M ARR. Now writing about what worked and the expensive mistakes. | Founders and operators |
| Current project + open door | Building a calmer to-do app in public. Weekly progress, numbers included. DMs open for feedback. | Indie makers |
| Niche + personality | Backend engineer who likes boring tech. Postgres, queues, and things that should have been a cron job. | Developers |
| Role + one human detail | Nurse on night shifts in Leeds. Posts about the job nobody puts on TV, and too many photos of my dog. | Personal accounts |
How to write a Twitter bio in five steps
Start with what you post
Look at your last 20 posts. Write down the two topics that come up most. That is your bio's job description, whatever your job title is.
Say who it's for
"For first-time founders" or "for people learning Spanish" helps the right person recognise themselves in two seconds.
Add one reason to believe you
A result, a number, a role or an experience. One is enough. Three reads like a CV.
Write it like you talk
If you would not say it out loud, cut it. "Passionate about leveraging synergies" has never earned a follow.
Cut to 160 and read it as a stranger
Open your profile in a private window. If you would not follow yourself, try another version.
Twitter bio mistakes that cost follows
Lists of nouns
"Writer. Runner. Dog dad." says what you are, not what someone gets by following you.
Hashtags in the bio
They look like spam and add nothing. Use plain words for your topics.
"Views my own"
Everybody's views are their own. It spends characters you could use to say why someone should follow you.
A promise the feed breaks
If the bio says marketing and the posts are about football, visitors trust the posts.
Fix consistency without posting more by hand
Most audits flag the same thing: long silences on some networks. MicroPoster publishes each post natively to X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn, so one good post keeps every profile active. Paid plans also check your connected accounts for shadowbans every month.

Frequently asked questions
How long can a Twitter bio be?
160 characters on X. Your website has its own field on the profile, so put your link there and keep all 160 characters for words.
Is this a Twitter bio generator?
It is a checker first and a generator second. It reads your current bio and your real posts, then writes three rewrites that keep your facts and voice. Generic generators write a bio for anyone; these are written for your account.
Should I put emoji in my Twitter bio?
One or two can add personality or act as separators. A row of them makes the bio harder to read and looks like a template. Words do more work.
Do I need to log in or connect my account?
No. The audit reads your public profile and recent public posts, the same things any visitor sees. You only type your handle.
Which parts are AI and which are measured?
The setup, consistency, engagement and content mix scores are calculated from your public data with fixed rules, so they are the same every time. The written review, the bio score and the bio rewrites come from an AI model that is given those numbers and your posts and told not to contradict them or invent facts about you.
Is it free?
Yes. Three audits a day, no account. Each result is kept for six hours, so opening your own audit again does not use one.
MicroPoster is not affiliated with X Corp. The checker reads public data only. Last reviewed on October 9, 2026.
