The short answer

How do you appeal a Bluesky suspension?

Sign in to the Bluesky app. A suspended account shows a suspension screen with an Appeal button; tap it and explain your case. For a label, open the label on your profile or on the post and choose Appeal. Bluesky's moderators reply by email.

Bluesky is unusual because its moderation is public. Before you appeal, run our Bluesky label checker to see exactly which labels you have and when they were applied, so you can name them in your appeal.

The process

How to get a Bluesky label or suspension removed

  1. Find out exactly what was applied

Run the Bluesky label checker to see every label with its date. Appeals that name the label get handled faster.

  2. Stop the pattern first

If the label is Spam or Engagement farming, stop mass following and repeated replies before you appeal. Moderators look at recent activity.

  3. Appeal in the app

Use the Appeal button on the suspension screen or on the label, and paste the appeal from the writer above.

  4. Watch your email

Bluesky answers by email. If a label is removed, it disappears from the label checker at the same time.

Next time, one ban won't cost you your whole audience

MicroPoster publishes each post natively to X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn. If one account is suspended, your followers on the others still see every post while you appeal. Paid plans also check your connected accounts for shadowbans every month.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Bluesky appeal take?

Bluesky does not publish a time. Label appeals are often answered within days. Suspension appeals can take longer when moderation queues are busy.

Can I appeal a label someone else's labeler put on me?

Labels from third-party labelers are handled by whoever runs that labeler, not by Bluesky. They only affect people who subscribed to that labeler. Our label checker shows Bluesky's own labels, which are the ones that affect everyone.

Why was my Bluesky account labeled spam?

Usually because of fast or repeated actions: following many accounts quickly, posting the same reply or link many times, or a burst of reports. Slow down, then appeal.

Does the tool send the appeal for me?

No. It writes the appeal and tells you where to send it. You send it yourself from your own account and email, which is how platforms expect appeals to arrive.

Is the appeal writer free?

Yes. Five drafts a day, no account. What you type is used to write your draft and is not stored with your name.

MicroPoster is not affiliated with Bluesky Social and cannot influence appeal decisions. Last reviewed on October 9, 2026.
