Bluesky following cleaner

Find the accounts you follow that stopped posting, never started, got flagged as spam, or don't follow you back. Then clean up your feed in a few minutes.

No login and no app password. The scan runs in your browser against Bluesky's public servers.

Free, unlimited, and nothing is unfollowed for you. Reads up to 2,000 accounts.

The short answer

How do you find inactive accounts you follow on Bluesky?

Bluesky's app does not show when someone last posted or whether they follow you back in one list. You would have to open every profile. This tool does that for you: it reads who you follow, checks each account's latest post, asks Bluesky who follows you back, and ranks the accounts worth unfollowing.

It never unfollows anyone. You get a ranked list with a link to each profile, and you decide. Everything runs in your browser against Bluesky's public servers, so we never see your list and you never hand over a password or app password.

What it finds

Five reasons an account shows up in your list

Reasons the following cleaner flags an account, and why it matters
ReasonHow we tellWhy it matters
Deleted or suspendedBluesky no longer returns the profile. It takes a slot in your following count and gives nothing back.
Moderation flagBluesky's moderators labeled it spam, inauthentic, engagement farming, scam or impersonation.Following flagged accounts makes your own network look less real.
Never postedThe profile has zero posts.Often a bot or an account someone made and forgot.
InactiveNo post or repost in the period you choose, 30 days to a year.Their silence makes your feed quieter and your follower ratio worse.
Doesn't follow you backBluesky's relationship data shows no follow from them.Useful if you want mutuals. Accounts with 10,000+ followers are skipped, since few of them follow back.
How to use it

Clean up your Bluesky following in four steps

  1. Run the scan

Enter your handle. Most lists of a few hundred accounts take under a minute; 2,000 takes a few minutes.

  2. Pick your inactive cutoff

90 days is a sensible default. Use 365 if you only want to drop accounts that are clearly abandoned.

  3. Work from the top

The list is ranked, so the clearest cases come first. Open each profile and tap Following to unfollow.

  4. Mark as you go

Tick each account off as you unfollow it, or download the CSV and work through it later.

Why bother

Does unfollowing inactive accounts help on Bluesky?

It helps in two plain ways. Your Following feed fills with people who actually post, and your follower to following ratio looks more like a real person's. New visitors glance at that ratio when deciding whether to follow you back.

What it will not do is fix reach on its own. Bluesky has no single algorithm that rewards a tidy following list. If your posts are being hidden, the cause is a moderation label, which our Bluesky shadowban checker will show you.

One warning: do not unfollow hundreds of accounts in one sitting. Bulk follows and unfollows are exactly what the Engagement farming label looks for. Spread a big cleanup over several days.

Spend the time you saved on posting

MicroPoster keeps Bluesky active for you by cross-posting what you already write on X, Threads and Mastodon, natively and on its own. A full feed of real posts is what makes people follow back.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I see who unfollowed me on Bluesky?

Not directly. Bluesky does not keep a public history of unfollows, so no tool can show who left in the past. This tool shows who does not follow you back right now, which answers the same question for anyone you follow.

Is there a mass unfollow tool for Bluesky?

This tool finds the accounts but leaves the unfollowing to you, on purpose. Tools that unfollow hundreds of accounts automatically need your password or an app password, and bulk unfollowing is one of the patterns Bluesky labels as engagement farming.

Do I need to log in or give an app password?

No. Who you follow is public on Bluesky, so the scan only reads public data. It runs in your browser, which means your list never touches our server.

How does it know when someone last posted?

For every account with posts, it reads the newest item on their profile, including reposts. An account that only reposts others still counts as active.

Is it free?

Yes, with no daily limit and no sign-up. It reads up to 2,000 accounts per scan.

MicroPoster is not affiliated with Bluesky Social. The scan reads public data only and never acts on your account. Last reviewed on October 9, 2026.
